Lo and behold, there’s a reason why Channel Nine Photoshopped Married at First Sight Australia 2024 groom Simon Flocco into the cast photoshoot.
ICYMI: On January 15, Channel Nine unveiled the new batch of singles who’d be taking on the marriage experiment.
However, fans were quick to notice some dodgy AF editing while scrolling through the cast list on social media, especially when it came to groom Simon.
So Dramatic! can reveal that Nine was forced to Photoshop the groom into the shoot after he shockingly QUIT the show at the eleventh hour.
They used a photo the marketing manager had previously sent to the wardrobe department and hoped fans wouldn’t notice. But we could still spot this editing fail without our glasses on! Especially given the price tag is still visible on his jacket. LOL!
Fans went nuts over Simon’s photo on the official MAFS Facebook page.
“Last minute Photoshop addition to the show,” one fan wrote, alongside a string of laughing emojis, whilst another commented: “What in the Photoshop is this?”
A third penned: “What’s with this edit?”
Whilst a fourth added: “I’m crying. Look at his pics compared to the others.”
Why did Married at First Sight‘s Simon Flocco QUIT the show?
Simon, who was part of the season’s same-sex couple, quit the show after filming his backstory and meeting his co-stars.
The Adelaide-based restaurant manager reportedly “ruined” the series’ planned storylines because he “kept having doubts” and “[expressed] his discomfort”.
Simon later told Daily Mail Australia, “MAFS wasn’t what I thought I wanted at this point in my life, that’s all”.
“I just felt bad for whoever they set me up with. I did initially leave, but they managed to coax me back [before leaving again]… Gotta look out for myself.”
Nine eventually found a replacement groom, Michael, who’ll be joining the series as an intruder with Simon’s original match.
