After what is being dubbed the best year of Love Island Australia EVER, Tyra Johannes and Kale Roberts have been crowned the winners of the 2023 season.
The fifth instalment of the hit dating show was pre-recorded, leaving fans wondering whether they would get the chance to vote for their favourite couple.
Luckily, viewers bombarded the voting website and rallied around Tyra and Kale, who walked away with a shared $50,000 during the December 18 finale.
In a statement following their win, Tyra said Kale is “everything [she] could ever ask for in a partner and more”.
“The most kind and considerate man I’ve ever met,” the 23-year-old expressed. “We’ve got so many plans, kicking it all off with a trip over to Perth to meet Kale’s family.
“I am stoked.”
Meanwhile, her bae said he was “excited” for the future with Tyra.
“We have so many exciting things coming up already. It’s amazing how bubbly and uplifting her presence is, she can light up a room with one smile.” AW!
The couple beat out Lucinda Strafford and Zac Nunns, and Savanah Badger and Clint Posselt.

Following the highly anticipated finale, Love Island Australia fans flocked to social media to share their thoughts on Tyra and Kale’s win.
Turns out, they were THRILLED.
Given the series is pre-filmed, we already know the fate of the Islanders’ relationship post-show, and by all accounts, they’re still going strong.

Love Island fans are RELIEVED that Zac and Lucinda DIDN’T win the show
Fans were also MEGA relieved that Zac and Lucinda, who are surprisingly still together IRL after Flirt-gate, didn’t win the show.
Many viewers took to Instagram to celebrate, with one fan even THANKING the public for NOT voting for the pair. LOL!
