Love Island Australia 2019‘s Matt Zukowksi has spilled the tea on his proposal to Tammy Hembrow in a juicy Q&A just a few days after getting engaged and we’re living for this!
ICYMI: On December 10, the couple revealed that they got engaged in the Maldives.
During the December 13 episode of his Where’s Your Head At? podcast, Matt revealed all the BTS chaos when it came to planning the perfect proposal.
According to the 28-year-old, he and Tammy realised they both wanted to tie the knot after having several chats about their future.
“I knew Tammy was going to say ‘yes’,” he told co-host Anna McEvoy. “We’d already had conversations about getting married.”

Matt revealed that he decided he was going to propose to the influencer around one week before their trip to the Maldives.
He quickly went to Unique Diamonds, where Anna’s fiancé Michael Staples purchased her ring.
He then guessed Tammy’s ring size (eep) and got the perfect ring whipped up based on inspo pics sent by her besties.

Matt revealed that he successfully hid the ring from Tammy. However, there were a few close calls.
“I had the ring in my carry-on bag, zipped in the side pocket,” Matt explained.
However, before the couple left for their trip, he came upstairs to see Tammy putting all of his stuff back in his bag because her daughter Posy had emptied it.
Luckily, Tammy didn’t notice the ring.
The second close call occurred at Singapore Airport.
“We went through the security scanners… and they had one in every gate,” Matt recalled. “We’re standing there and you could see [on the scanner screen] this box with a big f*ck-off ring just sitting there.”
The Saski founder wasn’t paying enough attention, therefore missing the ring, again! Phew.
The last time Matt almost blew the surprise was right before the proposal.
He’d hired someone to film the special moment with a drone. However, JUST before the big reveal, Matt pretended to tell this photographer to go away, pretending he was a nosy tourist, so Tammy didn’t get suss.

The couple, who hard-launched their relationship in September, have copped a lot of heat for their speedy proposal.
“For anyone saying anything about the timeline, I don’t know why you’d even comment,” Matt said whilst on air.
“We’re two people who are happily in love and we want to spend the rest of our lives together.”
He concluded: “First of all, we don’t give a f*ck. Secondly, we’re going to show you how happy we are together.”
