Nine has axed the popular series My Mum Your Dad Australia after just two seasons, despite putting out a casting call for 2024.

Hosted by Kate Langbroek, the single-parent series reset the reality dating scene, with viewers watching on as adult children secretly took the reigns of their parents’ love lives.

And on December 5, Nine confirmed that they’d axed the dating show, stating that “2024 is a big Olympic year and it won’t be in the schedule”, reports TV Blackbox.

According to the outlet, news of the cancellation was leaked before “some people at Nine were told”. Yikes.

ITV Studios published a casting call for the show back in September. However, according to the official casting website, applications for the third series “have now closed”.

This comes after My Mum Your Dad’s second series struggled to bring in ratings.

According to TV Tonight, the premiere on October 31 drew in 290,000 fans in metro ratings. This was a 26 per cent decrease from the show’s debut the previous year.

We’re personally sad to see it go!
