The new season of The Bachelors Australia 2023 has recorded the franchise’s lowest-ever ratings but Channel Ten still has high hopes for the dating show.

ICYMI: The latest instalment of Ten’s long-running series premiered on December 3, and once again, features three leads — Ben Waddell, Luke Bateman and Wesley Senna Cortes.

The franchise’s OG three-lead season in January 2023 returned dismal ratings, and it seems its second go-around is no different.

Per news.com.au, The Bachelors premiered to just 224,000 five-city metro viewers, with a total audience of 319,000.

Despite the minor audience, a spokesperson for Channel Ten is confident the new season will rake in viewers as it progresses. Especially as they factor in delayed viewing and binge-watching.

“That’s why we’re providing access to the shows on 10Play before the broadcast on 10,” the spokesperson said of Ten’s decision to make episodes available online prior to their airtime.

The network’s choice to shake up The Bachelor format in 2023 was a bid to boost ratings after their decline in recent years.

Even though The Bachelors‘ January instalment struggled in linear viewing, it was more popular among fans streaming the series on 10Play.

According to Ten, there was an average of a 68 per cent increase in views after the episodes aired.

“The overnight is just a small part of The Bachelors’ viewing audience,” a spokesperson said.

While the number of fans watching the new season of The Bachelors is minimal, those who are tuning in seem to be LOVING it.

“The boys are FIGHTING the girls are SPYING people are KISSING we are so so back,” one fan wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).
