Dessert Masters Australia‘s Melissa Leong has unveiled an epic hair transformation at the 2024 NGV Gala.
Melissa, who recently jumped ships from MasterChef Australia to its dessert-centric spin-off, hit the red carpet on December 2 with an all-new hairstyle that seemingly had many onlookers doing a double take!
“The vision for this year’s NGV gala: bigger, bolder, blonder. The transformation was epic,” she penned on Instagram.
“This whole incognito thing was a walk on the wild side!”
One of the food critic’s friends, Samuel Gordon, confessed he saw Melissa at the event, however, didn’t recognise her at the time.
“So many double takes, I felt like I was at the supermarket!” the 41-year-old joked in response.

Underneath her post, fans and friends alike shared their love for Melissa’s dramatic new look.
“Oh myyy [sic]!” one fan commented. “You look incredible!”
Another penned: “This is a VIBE!!”
Elsewhere, Dessert Masters 2023 contestants Anna Polyviou and Kristen Tibballs were all for Melissa’s new blonde locks.
“Wow @bendniprowskij can I have a Mel please,” Kirsten wrote, tagging the hair stylist.
Meanwhile, Anna dropped a string of flame emojis.
Melissa wasn’t the only icon to walk the red carpet at the NGV’s black-tie event.
Actors Liam Hemsworth and Olivia DeJonge were in attendance, as well as newly minted reality TV couple, Australian Survivor‘s Moana Hope and I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!‘s Maria Thattil.
