The Amazing Race Australia 2023‘s Teddy Briggs‘ controversial business has gone into liquidation after customer scam complaints and legal battles.
Teddy, who rose to fame on Love Island Australia in 2018, kickstarted his company, EcomConnect, which alleged to build online stores for clients to ship and sell products.
The business was classed as a “dropshipping model”. It promised clients that items from their e-commerce platforms would be sourced wholesale before getting shipped directly to customers.

“At EcomConnect we build the whole business for you,” Teddy previously told his social media followers. “[It is] guaranteed to work. Start making sales right now.”
However, it seems his shiny promises were far from reality, with several users sharing that EcomConnect severely underdelivered.
Disgruntled customers even aired their frustrations in an A Current Affair exposé on August 20.
Now, per The Australian, Oracle Insolvency Services was appointed to shut down the business on November 20.
Teddy Briggs’ company EcomConnect owes ‘several hundred thousand dollars’
The Adelaide-based firm estimates that EcomConnect owes customers, as well as suppliers and the Australian Taxation Office, “several hundred thousand dollars”.
A partner from the first, Yulia Petrenko, told The Australian that five customers had lodged individual court actions against the company in Queensland and Victoria.
They seek compensation of $60,000 for what they allege were products that “undelivered on EcomConnect’s promises”.

“We are also aware of media reports detailing dozens of other customers who are unsatisfied with EcomConnect,” Yulia said.
“As the appointed liquidator of this company I am keen to determine the full list of creditors. I am asking anyone who has been affected to contact Oracle Insolvency Services.”
She added: “Our priority is to work through how much money is owed, what went wrong and whether the company has any assets which may be sold to pay creditors.”
Yulia said Teddy – who is EcomConnect’s only employee — has so far complied with the firm’s requests for company records and documentation.
“Oracle Insolvency Services is committed to doing all that we can to help those affected by the collapse of this company.”
However, when confronted by A Current Affair in August over his business dealings, he told the reporter to “f*ck off, man”. Charming!
