Love Island Australia fans have been convinced that 2019 star Josh Packham and 2022’s Maddy Gillbanks are dating and we’re dying to get to the bottom of this!
On October 21, an eagle-eyed fan took to the Love Island Australia subreddit to share a Story of the two former Islanders on what appeared to be a date.
“Happy for them! They make a stunning pair,” the Redditor wrote alongside the sweet snap.
Fans immediately rushed to the comments section to speculate whether the pair were dating.
“Cute couple,” one user wrote, whilst another asserted: “He has a type”, clearly referencing the fact that Maddy has blonde hair like Josh’s ex Anna McEvoy.
Meanwhile, others were less thrilled with the potential re-coupling.
“Yeah, not a fan after he and Anna broke up,” one penned, whilst another added: “They won’t last. Their faces are too different in size.” And we didn’t realise face size contributed to the longevity of a relationship, but go off!

However, as revealed in episode 326 of the So Dramatic! podcast, Maddy and Josh aren’t an item!
First to address the dating rumours was Maddy, who immediately shut them down.
“WTF. Nothing’s going on here,” she told So Dramatic! in reference to the snap of her and Josh.
“It wasn’t a date either. Stella [Hutcheon] (her Love Island co-star) was there. We were at an event,” she clarified.
Josh also stated that the duo were “just friends”. And NGL, we’re kinda sad ‘coz they look pretty damn cute together!
