A private letter Channel Nine sent Charming Street residents ahead of The Block 2023 auctions has leaked online.
With auction day fast approaching, word on the street is that producers are gearing up for the 19th season finale to be the “most explosive” yet.
And, of course, that means we can’t say goodbye to The Block 2023 with one last bout of neighbourhood drama.

ICYMI: Tension between producers and locals has been simmering all season. First, it was a letter asking people to keep their cars parked off the street. Then, the pop-up McCafé on site stopped serving free coffee. The nerve!
While the show’s creator, Julian Cress, eventually smoothed things over with a damage control gift, a new letter has irked residents — and we get the gripe!
The correspondence, sent on October 27 to confirm the November 4 auction date, quickly made its way into a Facebook group for The Block fans.
What did The Block letter say?
The letter revealed that there would be some disruptions in Charming Street, including three large trucks, and overhead drone and traffic controllers managing the flow of visitors.
“This is not a public event and only registered bidders and contestants’ families will attend the auctions,” it read.
“Once the auctions begin there will be no one in the street and nothing to see. All of the filming will take place inside the houses, apart from a brief walk the contestants make from one house to another.”
It was also revealed the traffic controllers would “assist [residents] with access to [their] houses”.
“It is a really good time to say THANK YOU – for having us in your street and for your patience throughout production and the pre-auction period,” the letter continued.
“We hope you feel as we do, that this part of Charming St is really something.”

The Block 2023 fans slam letter about auction day disruptions
After the letter did the rounds online, fans of The Block were quick to criticise the last-ditch effort from Nine.
“A drone? Best not to be doing any nude sun-baking in your yard that day,” one user wrote.
A second added: “Love how it states ‘little inconvenience’ to any residents. Are they for real? So, the bidders are going to magically appear and not drive?”

Meanwhile, another said having a front-row seat to the teams could prove useful on auction day.
“Ohhhh, you’ll be able to see the contestants walking out of their auction. You’ll have to let us know who has a pep in their step,” they penned.
A fourth said: “I’m still surprised that Channel Nine don’t give all of the direct neighbours a really nice gift basket or similar, just to show some appreciation of the impact and nuisance the whole process has caused.
“Hopefully you and your neighbours will have your street back to normality soon!”
The Block 2023 auctions will film on Saturday, November 4, before airing on Nine and 9Now on November 5.
