Love Island fans brace yourselves because an all-stars spin-off, Love Island Games, is coming to our screens and we’re JUMPING with excitement!
The new series will see our fave Islanders from the UK, USA and Australia return for a second shot at love (and hitting the next million on their follower count).
According to Deadline, we should expect to see the drama, tears, romance and games that we all know and love and honestly, this is the best news we’ve heard all year.
Islanders will need to couple up and compete in challenges for their chance to find love and win the title of Global Champions. But what else do we know about Love Island Games?
What can we expect from Love Island Games?
According to contestant Scott Van-Der-Sluis, Love Island Games is “very different” to the dating show we all know and love.
“It’s not Love Island like you know it,” he told his followers on social media. “It’s very, very different… that’s why I did it”.
Co-star Liberty Poole also shared some tea about the new series.
“It was so unexpected. The twists and turns were mental, everyone’s going to watch it and have no idea what to expect,” she told The Sun.
The 24-year-old also said the series was “very physical”.
“It’s typical Love Island with sexy challenges and there’s a physical aspect as well. And you need endurance and I do not have endurance,” she laughed.
Liberty admitted that the new format also forced her to think “strategically”, pushing her out of her “comfort zone”.
Love Island Games producers tease MASSIVE twist
Despite being an all-stars season, producers are considering bringing in some “unknown ordinary folk” to shake things up.
“Love Island bosses want to make sure they’re out of the ratings slump when winter rolls around for [Love Island Games],” one source told The Sun.
“They’re working out ways to give the show a real kick and to make the format have a lasting impact on viewers.”
According to the insider, these “fresh faces” will bring even more drama to the show, as the Islanders would have to choose whether to take the risk and recouple with someone new.
“It would really test out that argument that people now just use Love Island for fame,” they added.
There’s also the “potential” for “old rivals to have it out on screen” and “put old love triangles back into play” and we’re LIVING for this!
Who is the host of Love Island Games?
UK presenter and overall QUEEN Maya Jama will return to host Love Island Games and we couldn’t be more obsessed.
In a clip posted to the Peacock Instagram, the radio DJ shared some insight into the exciting new series.
“Your favourites from Love Island UK, USA and Australia will be there, plus a whole lot more. So who do you want to see snatch the crown?” she teased. And to say we’re excited is an understatement!
And of course, no season of Love Island would be complete without the ICONIC voiceover artist Ian Stirling, who’ll also be returning for the all-stars series.
Whilst she won’t be starring on the cast, fan-favourite contestant Maura Higgins is going to be the show’s social media ambassador.
On October 5, the 32-year-old took to Instagram to share the news.
“Excited to be giving you all the behind-the-scenes gossip for the first ever season of #LoveIslandGames …Can’t wait for you to see what’s in store,” she captioned the post. And we LOVE her!
Which contestants are participating in Love Island Games?
The official Love Island Games lineup has already been announced and some of our iconic faves are returning to our screens (YAY!).
From the UK’s Megan Barton-Hanson and Georgia Steel to Australia’s own Mitch Hibberd and Tina Provis (again), the cast is full of HUGE names.
However, Liberty told The Sun that the full lineup is yet to be announced. So we’re expecting a few superstars to appear as bombshells!
According to another source, Love Island is also “looking into cameo appearances” from “fan favourites” who are happily married, including ICON Olivia Attwood.
Where is Love Island Games filmed?
According to Peacock, Love Island Games will be filmed in Fiji. With its beautiful clear water and tropical sun, it’s the perfect place to fall in love!
When does Love Island Games start?
If you’re just as excited for the fiery all-stars season as we are, you’re in luck, because Love Island Games premieres on November 1 on Peacock!
The show is believed to be airing six nights a week and TBH, we could do with seven! Inject it into our veins, stat!
