Former Olympian Stephanie Rice will be taking on SAS Australia 2023 and we think she’ll perform swimmingly in Base Camp.

The former professional swimmer is known for winning three gold medals in the Beijing Olympics, each in world record time, so it’s safe to say the other recruits should watch their backs.

But despite becoming an icon in the sporting world, things hadn’t been easy for the Gold Medalist since she retired at 24 back in 2014.

The now 35-year-old famously took to Instagram in September 2021 to share the impact of her transition out of the professional sporting world.

“Watching the Olympics will always probably be tough emotionally for me because it brings back so many strong emotions, both good and bad,” she wrote in the captions.

She told her fans that transitioning out of her career was “f*cking hard”, stating that she felt “lost”, “depressed” and “irrelevant”.

“I had to completely let go of the person I was as an athlete and rediscover myself.

“This bought up loads of deep-seated insecurities that I was able to hide by the validation and recognition I got by being a Gold Medalist,” she continued.

However, she finished the post on a positive note, stating that she loves the life she lives now and is truly “happy and content”.

What else do we know about SAS Australia 2023‘s Stephanie Rice?

These days, Stephanie is absolutely killing it.

According to her personal website, she’s the part owner of the Asia Pacific Esports team, Talon.

She’s also been an ambassador for luxury brands for the past 15 years and she has a boujee AF Insta grid to show for it!

She’s also currently studying an MBA at The University of Queensland’s UQ Business School and has been absolutely smashing it, receiving a high distinction in her first semester.
