The Masked Singer Australia 2022‘s Hugh Sheridan and his friends were left hiding in Israel during the shock Hamas attacks.
On October 8, the Packed to the Rafters star posted chilling footage to Instagram, showing him and his friends hiding in a stairwell in Israel, where they were holidaying.
“A few hours ago everyone was living life completely normal in Israel. It was a big Jewish holiday yesterday, one week after New Year,” he wrote.
“We were at a BBQ yesterday with young people who are now on their way to Gaza to fight. My heart breaks, I’m in the stairwell, so safe for now. X love you all.”
The Aussie actor also posted a note from his hotel, instructing guests to hide in the stairwell and the warehouse during missile sirens.
Later that day, the 38-year-old uploaded a video of himself walking through the deserted streets of Israel.
“It’s gotten eerily quiet. Desperately looking for a cab to the airport to try and get out. The missiles were way too close,” he captioned the clip.

Fortunately, Hugh and his friends safely left the country, boarding a flight to Athens, Greece.
David Draper, one of Hugh’s travel companions, shared a picture of the group on the plane, captioned: “We’re finally out of here.”
This comes after Hamas, a recognised terrorist organisation, fired thousands of rockets into Israel over the weekend as the country was celebrating the religious holiday Simchat Torah. This was an unprecedented attack.
According to Stand With Us, over 4,000 rockets have been fired, 700 people have died, 2,200 have been injured, and 130 have been kidnapped.
