Talent seems to run in The Voice Australia 2023 finalist Ezra Williams‘ family because her sister is Australian Idol star Emily Williams.
If you’re old enough to cast your mind back to Australian Idol 2003, you’ll remember Emily as the powerhouse singer who came runner-up next to eventual winner Kate DeAraugo.
She then became one-fourth of the girl group Young Divas, which also starred Idol alumni Kate, Paulini Curuenavuli and Ricki-Lee Coulter.

As of 2023, Emily, 38, is starring as Rachel Marron in the UK run of The Bodyguard: The Musical. She also understudied the role when it toured Australia in 2017.
Chatting to New Idea, Emily boasted about her 28-year-old sister’s talents.
“She gives me goosebumps every time she takes to the stage!” she said. “It’s such an exciting time for her!”
As for advice she gave her little sister, Emily said she wants her to “be herself and enjoy the ride”.
“Sometimes it’s really easy to get caught up in the process and you forget to enjoy every moment,” she explained.
Meanwhile, Ezra said her The Voice experience feels “almost like [she’s] living in a dream”.
Emily and Ezra also share another sister, Lavina, who also appeared on Australian Idol in 2006 and briefly joined Young Divas in 2007. As such, Emily said there’s always a chance a Williams sister will pop up on stage.

“Having famous sisters is so much fun!” added Ezra, who is competing in The Voice 2023 finale on Team Jessica Mauboy.
“You get to go backstage, collect VIP lanyards, and meet other celebrities. I’m very lucky.”
