A Shark Tank Australia 2023 shark has invested a record-breaking amount of money and where can we sign up?

During the shocking October 3 episode of the hit entrepreneurial series, long-time US shark Robert Herjavec, 61, offered Susan Toft a jaw-dropping $1 million for a share in her laundry business.

Susan was originally after a $750,000 investment for a 10 per cent share in her business, Laundry Lady, a mobile laundry service that the team described as an “Uber for laundry”.

The single mother started the company in 2020 with a revenue of $200,000. This year, she was on her way to making a whopping $3.8 million in revenue.

“And we’re set to double that again next year,” she gushed. “But we’re just getting started. There’s a lot of dirty laundry out there.” And our bedroom floors and our DMs are proof!

What happened during Susan’s pitch on Shark Tank?

Despite the other sharks tapping out, Robert was very impressed. However, he told the CEO that she’d fall behind unless she had more money.

“So, I’ll give you more money,” he exclaimed, offering her $1 million for a 30 per cent share.

“I’ve been there and I see the risk. I see the scale problems,” he said. “I’m trying to price in the risk for me, so that’s my offer.”

And just like that, Susan graciously accepted the biggest deal this season. Big congrats!
