Married at First Sight Australia 2024 is reportedly copping a whole heap of changes to set it apart from its past 10 seasons.
Every year, we expect MAFS to reform: for it to be less influencer and more true love. And, every year, we’re disappointed.
However, according to industry insiders, our prayers could be answered with the 11th season of the world-famous marriage experiment.

PerYahoo! Lifestyle, the 2024 cast will still feature some wannabe influencers (*cough* Mitch Eynaud‘s brother *cough*), but there will be a “better balance between the controversial participants there to stir drama and the ones genuinely looking for love”.

Married at First Sight 2024 will see a “freshening” up of storylines
The outlet also revealed that repetitive storylines (i.e. cheating scandals, gaslighting, intense rivalries) are a thing of the past.
“Producers want a more diverse cast that will cover a wider range of social issues, sexualities and genders than previous seasons,” one source explained.
“Last season there were a lot of complaints from fans that storylines felt recycled from other seasons, so this time they’ll be freshening it up.”

Will Married at First Sight 2024 feature a non-binary participant?
Possibly!
It was recently revealed that a same-sex couple has been cast in the latest season of MAFS. However, according to insiders, the participants may not both identify as male.
“It wouldn’t be out of the question to have a participant that identifies as non-binary, gender-fluid or is trans,” the source told Yahoo! Lifestyle. “The show is meant to represent modern-day Australia.
“Producers are making a real effort to do that this time round rather than just having another cast full of cis-gendered, heterosexual participants.”
The return of a same-sex pairing comes several years after MAFS 2016 introduced us to gay couple Craig Roach and Andy John. This was followed by lesbian couple Tash Herz and Amanda Micallef in 2020.
The following year, bisexual groom Liam Cooper was matched with Georgia Fairweather.
We wonder if this new couple will face a similar dramatic fate to these TV newlyweds…
