“Unfortunately, a week later we suffered a miscarriage and it was emotional, hard and obviously heartbreaking.

“It was a very unfortunate experience and a sad time for us,” she continued.

The nurse then revealed that the hardest part was telling their parents and loved ones.

“The hardest part was that we had told our parents and those closest to us the [good] news. And then we had to tell them the bad news, so they were elated and then also devastated.”

However, the 34-year-old said that their families had been an “absolutely incredible support system” during this time.

The reality star got candid about her miscarriage, explaining that she woke up to a “slight bit of bleeding” and immediately knew something wasn’t right.

“I just straightway didn’t feel right,” she said.

“We went to the hospital and they confirmed it. It all happened so quickly, which at the time was terrible, but I’m kind of glad it happened quickly,” she recalled.

Irena then shared that Locky had been “such a help” throughout her miscarriage.

“I took a few days off work. Then, when I went back, he was driving me to and from work, doing everything around the house and being positive and making sure that I was aware that it will happen for us, it just wasn’t our time,” she said.

Despite the support she was receiving, she revealed that she felt very lonely at the time.

“Obviously other women go through it, one in four pregnancies unfortunately result in a miscarriage, but you feel alone and like you’re by yourself,” she explained.

“Going through this, I’ve learned that you’re not going through it alone,” she said.

“Other people have gone through it, so garner support networks. There are people to reach out to and the more you talk about it actually the better it is and the quicker you heal.”
