FBOY Island Australia 2023‘s Molly O’Halloran has given the rundown on how she pulled off her epic finale plot twist against finalist Vernon Lyon.
In what fans are calling the greatest ending to a reality series, Molly tracked down “FBoy” Vernon’s ex-girlfriend Brogen to get to the bottom of claims he’d dumped her to go on the show.
Shock horror, it was true, despite Vernon vehemently denying this was the case.
Things got even more heated when Brogen appeared in the villa and confronted him before Molly revealed she’d be giving her a portion of the $50,000 she and her winner Nick Brown received.
Chatting with Yahoo! Lifestyle after the finale, Molly got the idea to contact Vernon’s ex after he revealed her name during the “Mansplaining” challenge.
“With a bit of an obscure name like ‘Brogen’, it wasn’t too hard to track her down,” the Melburnian shared. “Since we already had access to the boys’ social media I asked the producers, ‘Can I borrow a laptop or a phone?’
“I got on, searched ‘Brogen’ in his followers and up she came, so I messaged her via Instagram.”
Apparently, she was “more than happy” to discuss the true cause of her split from Vernon but was “a little bit worried” about how she’d be perceived for calling him out.

Aside from co-ordinating the opportunity for Vernon to be exposed, Molly also had a hand in bringing back her eventual winner Nick Brown.
ICYMI: She dumped the Sydneysider in the first elimination after suspecting he was an “FBoy”. However, it turns out he was actually one of the good guys!!
He later returned, with Molly revealing FBOY Island producers allowed it because she wasn’t really vibing anyone else.
“I was like, ’Is there any chance I can get Nick back?’,” she recalled.
“I begged and pleaded and I mean, if I wasn’t allowed him back, I’m sure I would have touched base with him after the show anyway.
“But I’m very glad I was allowed to.”
With the duo still together to this day, we’d say things worked out for the best!
