Two-time Australian Survivor star and AFLW player Moana Hope has revealed the reason behind her and wife Isabella Carlstrom‘s decision to break up.
ICYMI: the 35-year-old seemingly confirmed they’d gone their separate ways in May after telling media that her “priority” is being “dedicated” to the couple’s children, Svea and Ahi.
Isabella later told her Instagram followers that she and Moana had “consciously uncouple[d]”.
Now, Moana has given further insight into her marriage’s demise in an interview with the Sydney Morning Herald.
“We had been unhappy for quite a while… We do love each other; we just fell out of love,” she told the publication.
“I love Bella, she is an unbelievably kind human. She inspires me as a mum but we just grew apart.”
Moana explained that they had tried “everything to get [their] relationship back on track”. However, she just “didn’t feel the same as [she] used to”.

On May 15, model Isabella confirmed that the pair had decided to call it quits in a heartbreaking Instagram post.
“It’s with a heavy heart that Mo and I have decided to separate,” the post read.
“We will continue to raise our beautiful kids together as we consciously uncouple. We appreciate all the love and support over the years, thank you.”
Moana soon backed this up with her own post, in which she said they “have separated”.
“I understand that I live a public life and people may have questions, and whilst I live my life candidly, my main priority at this time is our beautiful children and I ask that you respect my privacy.”
The couple wed in August 2019, with Isabella later giving birth to their daughter Svea in November 2020.
Moana then gave birth to their son Ahi, who was born in June 2022.
