Two-time Big Brother Australia star Tully Smyth has revealed she and longtime boyfriend Daniel Parisi have broken up.
After two years together, the reality star and her partner (who is currently working in the US) called it quits, with Tully telling her followers that their “impossibly difficult” long-distance relationship contributed to their split.
Taking to Instagram on May 30, the 35-year-old said sharing this news wasn’t something she “ever imagined” would happen.
“Not something I ever imagined writing let alone sharing on here but you guys have been with me for over a decade now… so many of you have grown up alongside me,” Tully wrote.
“I’ve spoken a lot recently about life and how it doesn’t always go according to plan or the way we had hoped.”
She noted that “a few weeks ago” the pair came to the “incredibly tough decision to go [their] separate ways”.
“Sometimes you can love someone with every fibre of your being and it still just doesn’t work out the way you so desperately wanted it to.”
Tully Smyth will continue to be Daniel Parisi’s ‘biggest’ supporter
In a subsequent Story slide, Tully said she will “always be” Daniel’s “biggest cheerleader”, “loudest hype girl” and “his best friend”.
“We walk away with so much love, empathy, understanding, support and an immense amount of respect for one another,” she said.
Noting that there’s “still so much to be hopeful for”, the Big Brother fave confessed that Daniel is “proof” that “there are good guys out there”.
She then went on to request “peace and quiet” in her DMs, all the while “appreciating” her fans’ “support beyond belief”.
“I will be okay. He will be okay. We’re both going to be okay, we just need some time to heal,” she confessed.
A final slide begged for her followers “not to message [her]”.
“I appreciate the support so much but I just can’t deal with the influx of sadness on my behalf.
“I’m sad enough already.”
The breakup announcement comes just weeks after Tully revealed she is in the process of freezing her eggs.
