Farmer Wants a Wife Australia 2023‘s Corista has revealed what really unfolded when she seemingly ghosted Farmer Brad and left the show without warning.
ICYMI: Corista and Brad appeared to have a strong connection, with the show depicting the public servant as a frontrunner for the NSW farmer’s heart.
Of course, this left FWAW fans SHOOK when Corista unexpectedly quit the show, with sources telling So Dramatic! that police were called as she up and left the farm without so much as a goodbye in the middle of the night.
Now, the runaway participant has broken her silence on the debacle in a tell-all episode of the So Dramatic! podcast, confessing that producers made her exit out to be far more dramatic than reality.
So what really happened when Corista decided to quit Farmer Wants a Wife?

Despite their single date ending with a smooch, Corista told host Megan Pustetto that the environment wasn’t conducive to finding a long-lasting romance.
“The show is very different to what is shown on TV,” she said, and babes, you don’t have to tell us twice!
“So, 90 per cent of the time is spent with the [other] girls, and probably 10 per cent of the time is spent with Brad. And what’s spent with Brad is with cameras and everything like that.”
Noting that “it’s not really an organic place to form any sort of relationship”, Corista said she felt she lacked a connection with Brad.
“When we got back to the house, there was sort of nothing really there,” she confessed. “I enjoyed my time more with the girls than forming any sort of bond or relationship with Brad.
Corista later added that while she thinks Brad is “a really great guy”, she didn’t feel that “things were flowing in any sort of normal direction”.
“So I made the decision to leave in the morning.”
Did Claire winning the next date contribute to Corista’s decision to leave Farmer Wants a Wife?
The final edit made it appear that Corista quit FWAW because she wasn’t happy Clare was selected for the next date with Brad.
Of course, we know producers like to sprinkle their magic for dramatics, which is exactly what Corista asked them NOT to do.
“In the morning, I told the producers [I wanted to leave], I said… ‘I’m happy to do any filming that you like, no dramas at all’,” she recalled. “‘All I ask for is to be respected. I’m a human being and I have a life outside of here’.
“I don’t want it to be portrayed as you know, ‘Corista is leaving because Morgan got a date, or Clare got a date’.”
Watching the show back, Corista can hear the “insane” edits producers made to concoct their desired storyline.
“You can actually hear how many cuts, and the tones in my voice go up and down,” she said.
Highlighting one particular example, Corista said she offered to help Clare get dolled up for her date with Brad, before jokingly telling the farmer he can “help himself” prepare.
However, producers edited this to make it look like a snarky remark towards Clare.
“They cut [the line of] me offering to help Claire do her hair,” she explained. Clare says, ‘I might need some help actually, getting ready’, and then it looks like I say, ‘Well, you can help yourself’.”

Corista didn’t flee Farmer Wants a Wife in the middle of the night
As reported in episode 279 of the So Dramatic! podcast, one insider said Corista fled the farm in the dead of night, never to be heard from again.
However, she explained to So Dramatic! that she left during the day, just moments after Claire and Brad left for their date.
“She got whisked away for a date [and] and I got put into the minivan and off I went,” she said. “The show shows me leaving in a ute, I definitely didn’t.
“It wasn’t a nighttime thing, it was in the middle of the day.”
She was then taken to a “dodgy” motel in Cootamundra, which is where her real getaway took place.
According to Corista, producers asked if she’d be willing to hang about for a few more days until they could film her speaking to Brad about her leaving the show.
“This was on a Sunday, and they said, ‘Can you stay until Tuesday?'” she recalled. “I was like, ‘I’ll think about it’.
“So basically, I had no choice but to stay in that room for like two days, two nights, just sitting there by myself twiddling my thumbs in this dodgy hotel.”

Exhausted by the waiting around, Corista soon “organised a lift to come and get” her.
This came in the form of early departee Hayley, who lives in nearby Wagga Wagga.
“Hayley was my roomie when we first filmed… We became really good friends instantly,” Corista said. “Hayley’s like, ‘If you want me to come pick you up, I will’.
“And I was like, ‘You know what? They have done me no favours here. They’re going to edit this how they want… So you know what? Come and get me, girlfriend. Let’s go. I’m done.'”
With a chaperone stationed outside her motel room at all times, Corista exited via the back door, where Hayley was waiting in a courtyard.
“Then the next morning, Hayley dropped me at the airport,” the Newcastle local recalled. “I flew back to Sydney. One of my girlfriends came down and picked me up and then I flew to Bali for a month after that.”
