Below Deck Mediterranean Season Seven stew Natalya Scudder may have had a rocky AF relationship with Storm Smith; however, she revealed that having a boat romance on a superyacht is “fake”.
Speaking with Megan Pustetto in episode 222 of the So Dramatic! podcast, the Aussie-born crew member admitted that being on a boat is “like being locked in prison sometimes”.
“I think boat relationships are really fake,” she said. “You’re kind of looking around, and you’re just like, if you’re stuck on a boat with a certain amount of people, you end up dating someone, and then you go with that person to the outside world.”
While it might work while you’re living, working and partying together 24/7, things are very different once you get to live it in the real world.
“You realise it wouldn’t actually work in real life if it’s not on the yacht working,” she dished. “You kind of depend on that person to vent to when they reach out to you. But if you put it in a real-world situation, like Storm and me, it wouldn’t really work.”

As their relationship grew, Natalya realised the South African had dreams of furthering his career in yachting; however, she is now looking for more land-based opportunities.
“I’ve done about seven years at this point in the season, so it’s all good and great on the boat, but as soon as you step off, it’s kind of a different story.”
While she hasn’t officially kicked him to the curb on the show at the time of publication, it’s certainly headed for an iceberg.
However, the fact that they did seem a lil’ bit cute together wasn’t lost on Natalya.
“Storm and I could have worked, I feel, a few years ago on a boat together, but I’m done with my yachting season, and he just wants to be yachtie,” she said before adding: “We’re just two different people.”
“He was amazing, though. Storm was really great.”
Natalya Scudder Says She Could Have Handled Her Relationship with Storm Smith Better
According to the former Home crew member, “a few things that the viewers haven’t seen” led to some of Natalya’s “outbursts”.
“My delivery could be better,” she said. “I think some of my past relationships have made me quite defensive. I’m kind of straightforward.”
As for the watch he gave her — yes, she still has it and was in her bag at the time of recording.
“If I ever see Storm again, I will actually give it to him to give back to his sister, because I think the watch was originally for her and he gifted it to me.”
