“I noticed her working hard to breathe on Monday, so we went to emergency and she kind of perked up when we arrived, so we were sent home, but they said to come back if she starts going downhill.”

Tara then explained that she noticed Edi-Rae was “head bobbing” the following day and returned to the hospital for further monitoring.

It was then that the doctors discovered the newborn had three viruses: adenovirus, rhinovirus and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).

Noting that she and Edi-Rae have been at the hospital “ever since” the diagnosis, Tara said RSV could lead to bronchiolitis, which “can be really dangerous for babies”.
