Ok, so this is so gross. The Bachelor’s Matty J Johnson has revealed that he has kept underwear from eight years ago — ones which his fiancé Laura Byrne has been BEGGING for him to get rid of.
Speaking to the Daily Telegraph for their Inside My Wardrobe column, the reality star revealed he had a pair of Calvin Kleins that he just can’t part with.
When asked what the “oldest” thing in his wardrobe was, the 34-year-old said: “I think maybe my underwear.
“I have a pair of Calvin Kleins from about eight years ago that Laura begs me to throw out.” Well, she has a point…
As for something about his wardrobe that people would find the most surprising (what like, the red robe isn’t the most shocking?!)?
He doesn’t own a pair of thongs! How un-Australian!
How Often Should You Throw Out Your Underwear?
If you’ve got eight-year-old underwear in your cupboard, it’s high time you throw them out because according to BoodyWear, you should replace them every six to 12 months!
According to their website, there are some seriously good reasons to chuck them in the bin.
Bacteria can accumulate in your underwear over time even with regular washing. In fact, washing can also leave microorganisms causing UTIs, yeast infections and skin irritation. Blegh!
If you’re wondering when an old pair will tell you to replace them, there are some tell-tale signs.
Old underwear will stretch, making the fit less than desirable and once the stretch is gone, they’ll become uncomfortable to wear — and TBH, are hella unattractive!
Apparently, the more you wear the same pair, the more likely you are to accumulate bacteria — so get throwing!
