The Bachelor Australia 2018‘s Vanessa Sunshine has revealed she’s pregnant with her first baby, and it’s due in just a few short weeks!

The fan favourite — known for her deadpan reactions and blunt comebacks during Nick Cummins‘ season — took to Instagram with a stunning bathtub photoshoot on October 25.

Divulging that she’s 37.5 weeks pregnant, Vanessa told fans she’s been suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum and anaphylaxis.

“My SON. 37.5 weeks, this body of mine, despite its challenges, has grown you, kept you safe, healthy and strong,” she penned.

The reality star explained that pregnancy has come with many complications, making the experience “different” to how she imagined.

“All I’d ever really seen and heard is that the first trimester is rough, and then it’s mostly smooth sailing from then on till birth,” she said.

“I thought I’d be brunching with friends, doing Pilates, eating extremely healthy and have that pregnancy glow that people talk about.”

It was then that she confessed months of her pregnancy had been plagued by Hyperemesis Gravidarum — the same rare pregnancy illness MAFSMartha Kalifatidis has been open about suffering.

“Hyperemesis gravidarum (severe vomiting) throughout this entire pregnancy; there are good days and bad days (wish someone had warned me that weeing yourself whilst vomiting is a real thing),” Vanessa detailed.

In the lengthy announcement, Vanessa told her fans that the “reality” of her pregnancy is a tumultuous rollercoaster of emotions.

“One minute happy as Larry, the next balling your eyes out in Kmart when you see how fugly maternity bras and undies are, but you still buy them because nothing else fits,” she wrote.

The 31-year-old said her “immune system had gone haywire”, which led to her being admitted to the hospital for anaphylaxis.

“[I] had no clue I was allergic to anything and now have to carry an epi-pen for the rest of my life.”

Vanessa also admitted that some days she’s “so exhausted” that she second-guesses whether she’s ready for motherhood.

“Then other days where I am just so happy and in love, talking to him, feeling his hiccups and movements inside me,” the Bachie babe said.

However, “regardless of the hard times,” Vanessa said she’s “so incredibly grateful” for her son.

“It’s been a wild ride. We’re nervous and excited for this next special chapter in our lives,” she concluded.

“We love you so much already baby, ready whenever you are.”

It’s currently unknown who the baby’s father is.
