The Challenge Australia’s Jack Vidgen was forced to leave the Sydney premiere of Bros after suffering an anxiety attack.

The 25-year-old opened up to his 82.8k Instagram followers, revealing that just as he was going in to watch the film — which stars Billy Eichner and Luke McFarlane — he “started having an anxiety attack”.

“I’m so sad I didn’t get to see the movie,” the openly gay performer said. “It’s the first mainstream Hollywood rom-com to feature gay leads.”

The singer then managed to calm himself down, providing fans with an update on how he was going.

“I’ve just put myself into bed and feeling a lot better now,” he said before thanking his followers for their “lovely” messages.

“Just a lot going on at the moment, and emotions are high, but good things are happening. Life is good. It’s just feeling all the feelings and trying to move through them,” he said.

Jack then reshared a video of him on the red carpet posted by Universal Pictures.

“Moments before I did a runner lol [sic],” he captioned the Story.

Jack Vidgen Revealed Substance Abuse During the Pandemic

In May 2021, Jack revealed that during the pandemic, he “wasn’t busy” and had a “really hard time”.

“It really fast-tracked my abuse of certain substances, and [I] found myself in a re-occurring cycle which felt like a nightmare that I couldn’t wake up from.”

And in December 2020, the Daily Telegraph reported that he had been admitted to South Pacific Private clinic in Curl Curl in August of that same year for a six-week treatment.

In October 2022, the star revealed on Carla from Bankstown‘s podcast OMG Bro that he almost died from a drug overdose.

“I have had a history with substance abuse,” he revealed. “I think that’s definitely stemming from trauma.”

The star then admitted that he was now “sober”.

“I know for now; I just need to be sober. I want clarity in my life, I want peace, I want to live authentically, and I’m just finding at the moment being sober from alcohol and everything else is what needs to happen right now at least.”
