Australia’s most eligible cast of singles has set sail on the journey of a lifetime on The Real Love Boat Australia 2022; however, fans were left wondering whether real guests were onboard.

ICYMI: For its maiden voyage, filming took place on the Regal Princess, with host Darren McMullen steering the contestants on the romantic waters of the Mediterranean.

But what about the “extras” in the background?! Were they paid, or were they real-life passengers?

According to a well-placed So Dramatic! insider, the people you see roaming around are actual paying customers.

“You see all the guests on board in the background,” the source dished. “All the guests were told beforehand, so they had ample warning!”

During an interview with Abbie Chatfield on her Hot Nights with Abbie radio show, Darren revealed that the working ship was home to 3500 patrons.

In fact, during filming, they had to kick the holiday-makers out of the pool and take over the bingo rooms on certain occasions! LOL!

While he said that some patrons weren’t too happy about it, our The Real Love Boat source said some were thrilled!

“Heaps of guests asked the contestants for photos and loved watching,” they said. “The cast was learning the guest names and would wave and say ‘hi’ when they saw them!” CUTE!

Where Was The Real Love Boat Australia 2022 Filmed?

The Regal Princess is 330 metre-wide boat with more than 1,400 balcony rooms – which makes us seriously question why The Real Love Boat contestants had to share bunks?!

There are 19 decks available for guest use across the 66-metre-high vessel, home to some epic entertainment spaces, four on-deck pools and seven jacuzzi spas.
