The Real Love Boat Australia 2022 might look too good to be true but the hit new series was filmed on an IRL cruise ship (and we’re planning our trip already)!

The remaining contestants are sailing around the Mediterranean to numerous stunning European destinations, and needless to say, we’ve got some major FOMO.

If you’re familiar with the reality series’ OG inspiration (the 1970s scripted drama The Love Boat), it was actually filmed on the same cruise line with Captain Paolo Arrigo‘s grandfather serving as an executive chef! AH-MAZING!

Princess Cruises offered up their luxury ship, the Regal Princess, for both the Australian and the US version of The Real Love Boat (which stars 90s heartthrob Jerry O’Connell and Ugly Betty’s Rebecca Romjin). We even have a sneaking suspicion; both versions were filmed at precisely the same time!

It also turns out the original cast of The Love Boat christened the Regal Princess when the ship first debuted in 2014. Talk about meant to be!

Take a Look Inside Princess Cruises’ Regal Princess

The Regal Princess is 330 metre-wide boat with a jaw-dropping capacity for 3,560 guests (with more than 1,400 balcony rooms) – which makes us seriously question why the Real Love Boat contestants had to share bunks?!

There are 19 decks available for guest use across the 66-metre-high vessel, home to some epic entertainment spaces, four on-deck pools and seven jacuzzi spas.

Plus, we’ve already seen Sally Geach and Jay Bonnell enjoy one of three “joyful rejuvenation” areas on board during a couple’s massage at the luxe Lotus Spa.

The ship also features 27 different dining and entertainment experiences, including numerous bars, lounges, specialty restaurants and three main dining halls, and the addition of private room service. Oh-la-la!

The luxurious city on the water even boasts an “adult-only” retreat called The Sanctuary, where all the group sessions were filmed.
