During the September 26 episode of Farmer Wants a Wife Australia 2022, Farmer Benjamin Jackson received a call about his grandmother’s failing health, causing him to decide his future on the show.

“I’ve just got off the phone with my dad,” he said in a piece-to-camera. “I need to be with him and my family. I feel horrid that I have to jump ship right now; leave the ladies alone.”

Farmer Benjamin struggled with feelings for all three of his final ladies throughout his journey, and while he hasn’t officially left yet (at the time of publication), it seems he does leave the series completely.

As reported in episode 216 of the So Dramatic! podcast, a close friend revealed that the 33-year-old farmer sadly suffered a stroke whilst filming due to the “immense pressure” of the show.

“He had a breakdown during filming, and it led to a stroke,” the insider revealed. “He had been under extreme pressure and stress during filming. He wasn’t coping, and it manifested in a total breakdown.”

According to our source, Benjamin “woke up one day and couldn’t speak properly”, and then medics had to be called to the set.

“Thankfully, he’s now getting better,” they said.

A Second Source Confirmed That Farmer Wants a Wife’s Farmer Benjamin Had a Stroke

Another source from Farmer Benjamin’s hometown of Guyra corroborated the story.

“Yes, Benjamin had a breakdown and stroke,” they told So Dramatic!. “Producers put him through the wringer to create drama, and he couldn’t handle it.

“He is a genuinely nice person and just isn’t for conflict or confrontation. It’s just not in his nature.”

The spy also revealed that he didn’t finish the show “because he was too sick to continue”.

When So Dramatic! reached out for comment, Channel 7 acknowledged that Benjamin “stopped filming” Farmer Wants A Wife due to “personal health reasons.”

“We sincerely thank Benjamin for everything he brought to the show and wish him a speedy recovery,” a spokesperson said.
