Married at First Sight 2022’s Domenica Calarco may be advocating for Australia to become a republic following the Queen’s death, however, a resurfaced YouTube video show she was once a huge fan of The Royal Family.

ICYMI: The 29-year-old posted a tribute to Instagram following Queen Elizabeth II‘s death on September 8, before deleting it and sharing a Tweet from Green’s leader Adam Bandt, calling for Australia to rethink its place in the Commonwealth.

As reported in episode 215 of the So Dramatic! podcast, Domenica’s change of heart appears to be a recent one, with an unearthed YouTube video showing she travelled to meet members of The Royal Family during their visit to Australia in 2015.

In the YouTube clip, titled “Meeting the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in Australia”, the TV bride explained she was on her way to the Easter Show.

“The Royals are going to be at the show today and it’s gonna be packed,” she told the camera.

Later in the video, Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, could be seen walking through crowds.

Then, a young pink-haired Domenica exclaimed in the video: “We literally just saw the Royals and we’re freaking out!

“I had two phones in my hand to get photos… It’s really exciting,” she continued. “Then we got interviewed by someone from the Daily Mail, which is exciting as well.”

The video emerges after Domenica shared another post regarding the Queen on September 20 — the day after the monarch’s funeral. The TV bride shared another tribute to the Queen on Instagram following her funeral, just days after calling for Australia to ditch the monarchy.

In the reshared image from ENews!, two employees of Buckingham Palace can be seen alongside the Queen’s two corgis.

What Else Did Married at First Sight‘s Domenica Calarco Post Following the Queen’s Death?

Taking to Instagram after the Queen’s death, Domenica joined several other celebrities in posting tributes after news broke that Her Majesty died in Balmoral, Scotland.

At the time, the MAFS alum took a brief break from her countless Italian holiday snaps to share two vintage photos of the Queen, initially posted by Cosmopolitan UK.

However, by the end of the day, Domenica appeared to have a change of heart about the Queen’s death, instead sharing a polarising tweet from the Australian Green’s leader Adam Bandt.

“Probs [sic] an unpopular opinion, but it’s time,” she said.

An insider alleged that Domenica pulled a “dirty delete” and wiped the in-memoriam-photos before sharing the controversial tweet.

Domenica Calarco Reveals There Was “A Lot of Discussion” Following Her Instagram Story

She also wrote: “My thoughts on the Monarch def stirred a lot of conversation in my own DM’s [sic].

“This is just my opinion. I have so much respect for the Queen and everything she represented. I just personally think Australia must move on. With death comes new life. It is time.”

Domenica may have wanted to further address the controversial issue after researching more on the topic, reflecting on DMs she was sent by fans or even seeing other influencers share their thoughts.

The option for Australia to become a Republic after the Queen’s death has certainly been a hot topic over the weekend.

Many have argued that the Monarchy is representational of colonialism and believe it is time that Australia progresses past the atrocities experienced by First Nations people.

But others have questioned whether the ongoing political discussion should be postponed and continued after a period of mourning for the late Queen.
