Married at First Sight 2022’s Domenica Calarco appeared to have a change of heart regarding the Monarchy over the weekend, following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Taking to Instagram on September 9, the 29-year-old joined several other celebrities in posting tributes after news broke that Her Majesty died in Balmoral, Scotland.

On Saturday, the MAFS alum took a brief break from her countless Italian holiday snaps to share two vintage photos of the Queen, initially posted by Cosmopolitan UK.

However, by the end of the day, Domenica appeared to have a change of heart about the Queen’s death, instead sharing a polarising tweet from the Australian Green’s leader Adam Bandt.

“Probs [sic] an unpopular opinion, but it’s time,” she said.

An insider alleged that Domenica pulled a “dirty delete” and wiped the in-memoriam-photos before sharing the controversial tweet.

Domenica Calarco Reveals There Was “A Lot of Discussion” Following Her Instagram Story

She also wrote: “My thoughts on the Monarch def stirred a lot of conversation in my own DM’s [sic].

“This is just my opinion. I have so much respect for the Queen and everything she represented. I just personally think Australia must move on. With death comes new life. It is time.”

Domenica may have wanted to further address the controversial issue after researching more on the topic, reflecting on DMs she was sent by fans or even seeing other influencers share their thoughts.

The option for Australia to become a Republic after the Queen’s death has certainly been a hot topic over the weekend.

Many have argued that the Monarchy is representational of colonialism and believe it is time that Australia progresses past the atrocities experienced by First Nations people.

But others have questioned whether the ongoing political discussion should be postponed and continued after a period of mourning for the late Queen.
