Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, the reality star revealed that “the timing of the lockdowns” was synonymous with news of being in remission after battling throat cancer in 2020.

“I honestly just wanted to have my life back and return to work,” he said, before adding that he also was in a serious motorcycle accident in 2019 that left him in a neck brace.

“I had a spinal fusion, multiple surgeries and an intense course of radiation treatment on my throat,” he said.

As for the protest, Jake “went along with a friend thinking it was okay” to “support small business owners”.

“In hindsight, it was a huge mistake, and I do regret the decision to go.”
