Heartbreak Island Australia‘s Jake Spinner has opened up about his emotional AF exit that saw a number of his co-stars left in tears.

In the third episode of Seven’s salacious new series, Heartbreak Island got a little too real — and certainly lived up to its name — when the Aussie got the boot from the Fijian island.

In a shock Passion Play during the August 18 episode, Jake’s partner Amber Yee swapped him out in favour of Max Batchelor, saving the English footballer from elimination.

This saw the Victorian tradie become the first male Hearbreaker offically booted from Heartbreak Island.

The surprise dumping also meant Jake was unable to say goodbye to Ash Williams — who he’d struck up a romance with — as she had already been saved and sent back to her acccomodation.

However, it wasn’t the lack of goodbye between him and his bae that had hearts breaking. Rather, the devstating reaction from Max, who was in tears upon the realisation that his bestie was going home.

Chatting to So Dramatic!, Jake confessed it was hard seeing his mate so distraught.

“It kind of tore me up a bit when I saw him so upset,” he admitted.

“I was very close with him and I’ve got a lot of love for Max.”

A teary Jake told the camera at the time that he was “a bit caught off guard” at his pal’s reaction and TBH, more men being open about their emotions on TV, please!

Why Was Max Batchelor So Upset at Jake Spinner’s Elimination On Heartbreak Island Australia?

On the show, Jake mused that it was rare to find “real friends” in the competition, adding that he and Max were “looking after each other” amid a game built on greed and deception.

As such, their close bond was ripped to shreds when Max was saved and Jake was dumped.

“Nah, f*ck that. I’m not letting my boy go home,” Max said. “He ain’t going, let me go.”

“I don’t want to be without [Jake].”

However, host Clint Randell said “the rules of the game are clear” and Jake must leave, alongside Maiata Boxer.
