The Masked Singer Australia 2022 is off to a roaring start and fans are already scratching their heads wondering, “Who is Snapdragon?”.
The whacky and wonderful singing competition has viewers searching TF out of Google, trying to justify that their wild guesses line up with the clues.
The Masked Singer Australia‘s shining Knight (A.K.A Neighbours star Ryan Maloney) may have been the first to be unmasked. However, there is still a litany of incredible masks yet to be unveiled.
This includes Snapdragon, who has been wowing audiences ever since the first trailer dropped this year.
So, which star is boasting dulcet tones from under the Snapdragon mask?
Fans Are Confident They Know Who Snapdragon Is
Since the masks were first debuted by Channel 10, fans have been hard and fast in suggesting that Australia’s 2022 Eurovision competitor Sheldon Riley is on The Masked Singer 2022.
Discussing the likelihood of his involvement, one fan said “it’s pretty obvious” that the 23-year-old is under one of the masks — most specifically, the Snapdragon get-up.
“The flower on The Masked Singer that sings Never Enough is Sheldon Riley,” one fan penned on Facebook.
Referencing one commercial that featured the Snapdragon mask, they said that “his movements and mannerisms during the song are so obvious”.
Another wrote: “It’s Sheldon Riley. I can listen to his angelic voice and never tire of it.”
Viewers also took to Reddit to discuss Snapdragon’s identity, echoing thoughts that their body language mimics Sheldon’s.
“Massive eurovision fan, and I think that ‘Never be enough’ is totally Sheldon’s vibe and couples with [Sheldon’s song] ‘Not the Same’ really well,” they wrote. “The use of hand movements when singing fits, voice sounds that same, and the smooth singing is really similar.
“Mark my words. It IS HIM. [sic].”
Sheldon definitely has the pipes for The Masked Singer, considering he’s appeared on several singing and talent shows.
This includes The X Factor, The Voice Australia (twice!) and American’s Got Talent.
However, the young singer has never won any of the competitions thus far… So could this be a reason for him to belt Never Enough on stage?
