SAS Australia 2021’s Jana Pittman has revealed career plans which involve signing up for the Australian Army Reserve and it’s all thanks to her stint on the hit TV show!

Labelled a “real life Wonder Woman” for her turn on the reality series, the former Olympian, 39, has now revealed that she is in the process of enlisting.

“I am halfway through that application, but I had the twins [in October], so it has been delayed,” Jana told The Sunday Telegraph.

The two-time world champion also said she had seen “first-hand how war can impact” people when they come home after having several family members in the defence force.

“My brother was an ex-Afghan veteran, my grandfather was in the Army and my husband’s brother is in the Army, as is his father,” she said.

“Also, my grandparents were Dutch and went through [Nazi occupation in] World War II. So we have seen first-hand how the war can impact them when they come home. I have grown up with a lot of respect for veterans.”

Jana Pittman Just Missed Out on “Selection” on SAS Australia 2022

During the finale of SAS Australia in October 2021, Jana was one of four recruits to make it to the final selection — cementing her new career trajectory.

Paired with tennis legend Mark Philippoussis, she completed the final challenge within seconds of the allocated time. However, was still eliminated by the Directing Staff.

“Of course disappointed not to finish the last task. In hindsight wish I had tried to bargain with @antmiddleton to let me continue and not take my number. [sic],” she said on Instagram at the time.

While Mark, Jana and John Steffensen completed the course, only former NRL player Sam Burgess passed.
