Hunted Australia 2022 premiered on July 17 and the savage tweets that roasted the first episode for being “fake” were arguably more entertaining than the actual TV show.

Following the competitors or “fugitives” as they go on the run, with a crack(ed) team of law enforcement and special intelligence tracing their every move, Hunted Australia was billed as an edge-of-your-seat thrill ride.

Instead, viewers found more humour in the show than perhaps what was intended, with tweets flooding the official hashtag about how easy it was to evade the hunters in the first episode.

But honestly, how can you not love a show where Australia’s top agents are baffled by a tall fence, all of the getaway cars miraculously have perspex barriers, someone cries about a grasshopper, and two of the fugitives decide to turn back for a cup of tea.

If that’s not soon-to-be iconic reality TV, we don’t know what is.

Hunted Australia 2022 Viewers on Twitter Thought the TV Experts Left a LOT to Be Desired

Viewers were baffled by how many roadblocks the experts struggled with. They couldn’t enter any properties and hilariously ignored the camera crew following the fugitives.

Even celebs were getting in on the joke, with comedian Joel Creasey and TV icon Magda Szubanski suggesting they could have found Hunted Australia‘s fugitives with a good Insta-stalk. Same TBH.

Fans were dying over the experts’ simple mistakes, including “dialling” one of their people of interest (fashion icon Jackie).

While some were fuming that it made the new TV show “unrealistic”, others reminded viewers it was just entertainment.

Too good *wipes tears from eyes*!
