The Bachelorette Australia’s Georgia Love has taken a swing at Gen Z after revealing that she has “copped some form of abuse” every day for six years.

In an opinion piece for The Big Smoke, the 33-year-old claimed that while she had been constantly threatened by keyboard warriors, it had never once been done in person.

“Since appearing on reality TV six years ago, it is not an exaggeration to say I have copped some level of abuse, hate or trolling every single day,” Georgia wrote.

“Do you know how many of these incidents have been in person? Not one.”

85% of Trolls Who Target Georgia Love Are Anonymous

The former journalist then went on to say that around 85% of those who “troll” her are anonymous.

“@karma4u can send me threatening emails, nasty messages and abuse regularly,” she said, before adding: “Apparently making themselves feel bigger in the process.”

“But the actual human behind this account, the one sitting on their phone or at their desk writing these things, never once has.”

Gen Z are More Likely to Make Trolling Anonymous

According to the reality star, studies have suggested that  “Gen Z is stepping away from the flashy, attention-grabbing ways of their Millennial elders”.

Gen Z is more likely to retreat “into smaller Internet spaces and secret apps for sharing information anonymously”.

Some trolls even went as far as to target her mum Belinda, who passed away on November 1, 2016.

This came just weeks after The Bachelorette Australia finale aired.

“You would not say to me, ‘shut up about your dead mum, get over it’, if you met me out at a bar,” she said.

“So why say it online?”

Georgia rose to fame after her stint as The Bachelorette in 2016, where she found love with electrician Lee Elliott.

In the past year, she has been under fire numerous times in the media.

She copped hate for a racially insensitive Instagram post which spurred a change in career, as well as backlash for posting about a sponsored trip to Saudi Arabia.
