Fans of Love Island UK are freaking out after discovering that host Laura Whitmore is MARRIED to the show’s narrator, Iain Sterling!
Yup, despite the pair having been together for years, this new tidbit has sent viewers into a tizzy.
One fan recently took to Twitter with the realisation, penning: “Just learning that Iain Sterling and Laura Whitmore are married… Love Island is truly the perfect show.”
And while we’d love for Laura and the Scottish comedian to have coupled up via the villa, the pair actually met before Laura was appointed as host!
Laura and Iain met three years earlier in 2017, at a party hosted by UK network, ITV.
While the pair initially remained relatively coy about their romance, Laura confirmed their relationship in August 2017.
“Yeah, he’s my boyfriend. He’s lovely,” she told The Sun newspaper at the time. “I’ve got him as my screensaver. I’ve known him for ages.”
A year later, it was revealed the private couple was planning to move in together, with Laura sharing a rare snap of themselves that December.
When Did Love Island‘s Laura Whitmore and Iain Stirling Get Married?
The duo wed in an intimate ceremony in Dublin, Ireland on November 11, 2020.
The small celebration of 25 people was a true sign of the times, with the guest list limited due to Ireland’s coronavirus restrictions at the time.
A source close to the couple told The Sun that it was “such a romantic day”, despite the unideal circumstances.
“Iain and Laura are so in love, they really wanted to get married as soon as possible,” they said.
The private wedding came just months after Iain reportedly proposed to the TV host in South Africa while filming the winter edition of Love Island.
Laura Whitmore and Iain Sterling Share a Child
One month after tying the knot, Laura revealed that she and the iconic voiceover man were expecting their first child in 2021.
“I want to now share good news as it’s our news to share – and I’m gonna be honest it’s starting to look like my lock down beer belly is out of control. [sic],” she wrote online.
In March 2021, the Love Island duo welcome a daughter named Stevie Ré who has since made regular cameos on her parents’ Instagram pages.
We LOVE this couple!
