Married at First Sight Australia casting producers are calling on UK citizens to apply for the upcoming 2023 season.
It seems that Aussies are officially dunzo with putting themselves through the controversial marriage experiment — why else would they have to outsource applicants?!
One So Dramatic! spy slid into our DMs on June 29, with a screenshot from the official Married at First Sight Australia Facebook page that mused, “love knows no borders”.
“For the first time ever, MAFS is inviting British singles to take part in Australia’s biggest social experiment!” it read.
It continued by calling on “Brits living in the UK” who are “prepared to move across the globe for true love” to apply via the supplied link.
However, the post has since been removed from any and all official social channels. Perhaps MAFS Australia just isn’t the English folk’s cup of tea, either!
Married at First Sight Producers Were Called Out for an Insensitive AF Casting Tactic
The latest casting call-out comes after it was revealed producers have been trying to recruit widows for the 2023 season.
Chatting to Yahoo! Lifestyle, a friend of a recently bereaved woman called out the show for its methods.
“They are looking for a widow and literally messaging all the ladies that [her friend] knows that have and are going through this trauma and some are very recent,” she told the publication, adding that they’ve “lost the plot”.
Nine, however, has since denied the claims.
So Dramatic! recently reported that Married at First Sight producers are currently seeking POC to feature in the series, too.
