The Block’s Elyse Knowles has revealed that her toddler Sunny doesn’t go near her phone unless it’s absolutely necessary.
With a polarising take about her tot’s screen time, the 29-year-old admitted that she doesn’t even want him “picking it up”.
In fact, speaking to Body + Soul Magazine, the model said that she didn’t “want him playing on it at all”.
“Sometimes it’s the only way I can get him to sit still for two seconds while I’m doing something, but that’s very rare,” she said. “I’m very aware of how easy it is for little toddlers or even babies to start noticing the screen. I was on to Josh [Barker] straight away – no phones around Sunny.”
Instead of using the phone as a tool to keep her son occupied, the Byron Bay local prefers for her son to play out on the verandah with his toy trucks.
“I’ll do anything for him not to touch the phone,” she said.

After welcoming their son in February 2021, Elyse and her fiancé Josh chose to keep their son’s face out of the spotlight.
In an interview with the Herald Sun back in July 2021, the 2017 winners of The Block made the decision to “keep him to ourselves” because he was “too special”.
“It’s huge how many people are watching every step and I just thought he was a bit young to be exposed to that many people that are judgmental,” she said.
In August of the same year, Elyse shared some very special pics of her babe to celebrate his six-month birthday.
Following this, Sunny has regularly featured on both his parent’s Instagrams and is now a cover star for Body+Soul magazine.
Elyse and Josh announced the birth of their first child after revealing they had secretly become engaged.
