After two successful seasons in Australia, Love On the Spectrum has released a US version, and it is the uplifting dating show we all need!
Sick of The Bachelor? Married at First Sight delivering just a little too much drama? Welp, it’s time to add Love On the Spectrum to your Netflix queue because as far as reality TV goes, this is as wholesome as it gets.
A big departure from other shows of its kind, LOTS is a docu-series that follows people on the autism spectrum as they “look for love and navigate the changing world of dating and relationships”.
Since the show first debuted in Australia in 2019, fans have fallen in love with its stars and even shot the series to a rare 100 per cent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Then, when it hit US Netflix in 2020, American viewers were left clamouring for their own iteration of the show.
Even though the newest season only debuted on May 18, fans are already OBSESSED with the third series.
Oh my god Steve from Love on the Spectrum US is the most beautiful soul in the universe, someone hire him to narrate documentaries because his voice calms my soul

Watching “Love On The Spectrum”. The way these folks express their feelings so clear and concise is a thing of beauty. They say exactly how they feel. Lol.

I watch more trash TV than most people and let me tell you “Love on the Spectrum” is the most goddamned heartwarming show I’ve ever watched. I’m falling for every trick these producers have and I’m fine with it

Another Show from the Creators of Love On the Spectrum Is On Its Way
Off the back of Love On the Spectrum‘s success, the creators are keen to recruit a gaggle of single folk who have never been on a date before but are ready to venture into the dating scene for their upcoming series.
It’ll also focus on the experiences of people who are typically underrepresented on shows like The Bachelor, Married at First Sight and Love Island.
“This could mean people who identify as LGBTIQ+, it could mean people from different cultural backgrounds,” the casting callout reads. “It could mean people living with a disability or with a condition; it could mean people whose appearance is different to what we tend to see on dating shows filmed on islands.”
The casting ad also said that they “aim to make an honest and insightful” series that tells “the stories of people we don’t see enough of on our screens”.
Can we get a “HELL YEAH”? About time we got (another) show that doesn’t centre on hospo haters or the real-life equivalents of Disney villains…
Love On the Spectrum US and its preceding two Aussie seasons are available on Netflix.
