Married at First Sight Australia 2022‘s Ella Ding and Mitch Eynaud have had a tumultuous time in the experiment, however, the final dinner party could see the couple walk away for good.
While the pair initially seemed like the perfect match, cracks began to show when Mitch’s obvious disdain for the experiment and his inability to open up started to get in the way of his relationship with Ella.
Now, as the final dinner party of the season approaches, one current contestant has revealed that “everything kind of blows up for them”.
“They do a question box at the final dinner party [and] it ends with Ella in tears,” they confessed as disclosed in episode 163 of the So Dramatic! podcast.
The source also revealed that the beautician “cried so much that night” and was “inconsolable” after she “told Mitch how she really felt and it wasn’t reciprocated”.
“She starts crying and gets up and walks out,” they continued. “Whenever Ella started to speak up about how she was feeling, that’s when shit hit the fan between them and Mitch would erupt.”
Mitch and Ella reportedly also stayed in separate rooms following their blow up at the dinner party.
“The producers didn’t let them go home together [because] they didn’t want them talking and potentially making up off-camera,” they said.
Another Contestant Weighs In On Ella and Mitch’s Relationship
Another Married at First Sight 2022 star also weighed in on Ella’s relationship with Mitch, noting that the Gold Coast native was “so controlling”.
“He wouldn’t let her talk about her emotions and would say to Ella, ‘Don’t tell anyone about our issues, I love a woman who’s private’,” they recalled. “If she tried to voice any concerns or raise anything with him, he would just shut her down.”
The contestant also said that whenever Ella would speak up about her feelings, Mitch “would say he’s gonna leave”, which “completely destroyed her confidence”.
“All the other brides noticed it,” the source confessed. “She lowered her standards and became what he needs rather than who she is because she didn’t want him to leave.
“He was straight up manipulative.”
The contestant also told So Dramatic! that Ella was “blinded” by the experiment and “couldn’t see” Mitch’s toxic behaviour at the time.
“Watching it back she has been like, ‘Wow, how did I not see this?'” Welp, hindsight is a wonderful thing, Ella!
