We might only be two weeks into Married at First Sight Australia 2022 but three new intruder couples are set to enter the experiment next week.
Just as we were getting our heads around the current newlyweds and their top-tier drama, Channel Nine announced the news with a bombshell trailer following Sunday’s commitment ceremony.
Teasing a “whole new world”, fans of the marriage experiment can expect a brand new host of controversial personalities.
The newcomers include a clinical nutritionist, a property developer and a groom who thinks it’s okay to eat chicken Twisties before pashing his bride.
So, who exactly are the Married at First Sight Australia 2022 intruders?
Carolina Santos and Dion Giannarelli
Carolina Santos has been a single mother since falling pregnant to her high school boyfriend at 15-years-old.
While her last relationship fell apart after she discovered her partner was cheating on her, Carolina’s dating life took a backseat while she raised her son.
Now 33, the Brazillian-born business owner also the experts will fix her up with an equally passionate partner, as opposed to the “wrong men” she has previously dated in an attempt to fill the gap left by her late father.
But will Dion Giannarelli be the man for her?
The Gold Coast-based property developer is keen on the finer things in life. We’re talking designer clothes, boats and choppers — and somehow we think he’d be better suited to “fussy” bride Tamara Djordjevic!
However, the 33-year-old sees himself as kind and generous with hopes to share his successes with his new bride.
Jessica Seracino and Daniel Holmes
Jessica Seracino may be entering the experiment as an intruder, but it won’t be the first time the 27-year-old walks down an aisle for the cameras.
As previously reported by So Dramatic!, Jessica was first matched with disgraced groom Simon Blackburn before he was axed from the series. However, in an attempt to keep the debacle under wraps, producers promised the unlucky-in-love bride a second chance in the experiment.
After witnessing a successful 50 years of marriage in her parents’ relationship, the Victorian is hoping hubby number two is a “protective” and “confident” beau with a “soft side”.
Jessica will reportedly wed Daniel Holmes, who found comfort in fitness after his elder brother took his life when Daniel was just 17-years-old.
Now 30, the personal trainer is confident and driven with hopes that MAFS will afford him a wife with whom he can create a healthy family unit.
This will also include his seven-year-old niece, who Daniel claims is the “most important person in the world” after taking on a fatherly role in her life.
Kate Laidlaw and Matt Ridley
In a last-ditch effort to find The One, Kate Laidlaw is taking on Married at First Sight despite never having had a boyfriend.
The 38-year-old admittedly hides from the dating scene, instead opting to stay in and watch rom-coms with her equally single twin sister.
In the little experience Kate has had in the dating world, the clinical nutritionist has accepted poor behaviour from men, including brutal rejections and put-downs.
Kate is afraid of being in the same loveless situation in ten years’ time. So, with the help of the experts, she hopes MAFS will turn her bad luck around with the perfect husband.
Enter Matt Ridley, a 39-year-old law clerk who already has one marriage under his belt.
He and his ex-wife went through several years of unsuccessful IVF treatments before turning to foster care.
Despite admirably fostering 27 children during their seven years of marriage, the stresses ultimately forced the pair to call time on their relationship.
However, Matt believes it’s his destiny to fall in love again. Could Kate be The One?
