If you’ve ever watched Married at First Sight Australia and wondered why the commitment ceremonies are so explosive, we have one answer for you. The experts.
And if there’s one MAFS star who copped the full brunt of it, it was Sam Carraro.
Speaking to host Megan Pustetto on the So Dramatic! podcast, Sam revealed that not only do the experts hold you accountable but the contestants are made to sit on the couch for a full hour, while they’re grilled by John Aiken, Mel Schilling and Alessandra Rampolla.
“It’s full-on when they come after you because they’ve got the head of the show in their ear,” he explained. “Like you give the experts like this great explanation, and yeah, that’s not enough. And then they come at you again.”
Sam then revealed that being pummelled consistently by questions can cause the reality stars to become “frazzled”.
“They know that you’re frazzled because it’s late at night,” he said.
Sam Carraro Speaks Out About His Altercation with Bryce Ruthven
During the 2021 season, Sam famously had spats with not only his “wife” Coco Steadman but also with fellow groom Bryce Ruthven.
And while their feud during the series, stemming from verbal attacks, during a Team Ellis boxing event in Melbourne on Friday, December 17 2021, their disdain for each other became physical.
After winning his fight against Love Island Australia star, Todd Elton, Sam was faced with Bryce who was in the audience with his TV wife Melissa Rawson and several other former MAFS stars.
After hearing his former co-star heckle him during the match, Sam challenged Bryce to a fight.
Sam was originally meant to fight his foe in the ring, however, Bachelorette star Ciarran Stott told So Dramatic! on Thursday that Bryce pulled out of the match after saying yes because Melissa was pregnant with twins Levi and Tate.
“As I was walking back to the change rooms, I was walking past where they were seated, [Bryce] got very animated, called me over,” Sam said. “Next minute, he’s out of his chair. He storms up, gets in my face, I push him away. Then he lunges at me.”
“I’m not going to say a punch, but he definitely lunged at me.”
Sam later dubbed Bryce as “toxic”, while being the sole source of drama surrounding MAFS.
“The one common denominator is who? Him,” he said. “He’s just the worst person and most embarrassing person ever come off reality TV.
“That’s a fact.”
