The Bachelor Australia‘s Tim Robards and Anna Heinrich have revealed the intense training regimen they tackled in preparation for Anna’s appearance on SAS Australia 2022.

Since walking away from The Bachelor‘s inaugural season together eight years ago, the couple has faced many milestones. However, we’re not sure there has been one as challenging as a Special Forces selection course… until now.

Luckily, Anna, 35, had her personal trainer husband to give her a little taste of what was ahead of her in the intense reality series.

“We actually got out of the gym, because we wanted to try and replicate what she would go up against in the real world of SAS,” Tim told WHO.

“I was really trying to go, what will you be up against? Well, you’ll be carrying a backpack, climbing up things, there’s going to be cold and icy water, you’ll be out in the rain. All of those things.”

The 39-year-old also revealed that Anna would be “running the hills of Bellevue Hill with a backpack on”. As for Tim? He was there every step of the way, trailing her with their one-year-old daughter, Elle, in a pram.

When it came to their strict training, Anna confessed that she had to “[get] comfortable with being uncomfortable”.

Anna Heinrich On Tackling SAS Australia 11 Months Post-Partum

When filming for the third season of SAS Australia kicked off in October, it had only been 11 months since Anna gave birth to Elle.

According to the lawyer, Tim was her number one supporter.

“Tim encouraged me,” she confessed. “It was definitely something I never thought I’d be doing, there was just no way. It’s so far out of my comfort zone.”

Her husband added that he was “living a little vicariously” through Anna’s experience and commended her “inner strength” and resilience.

Tim previously commemorated the “couples who train together, stay together” ethic with an Instagram post, after the new cast was confirmed.

“So proud of my girl for going ALL IN on this,” Tim wrote. “The training we’ve been able to do together, even with Elle in tow, has been an incredibly empowering and belief-building journey for Anna… and brought us even closer as a family in lockdown.”

Joining Anna in the test of a lifetime is fellow Bachelor alumni Locky Gilbert, as well as former footballers Barry Hall and Wayne Carey.

Model and I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here star Simone Holtznagel, filmmaker Paul Fenech and rugby star Millie Boyle will also appear.
