The course of true love never runs smooth, even in the case of best reality TV friends — and this is the case between Love Island Australia’s BFF’s Jessie Wynter and Cartier Surjan!
After becoming besties in the villa during Love Island Australia 2019, Jessie and Cartier struck up a #bffgoals friendship away from the series. However, according to Jessie, all that came crashing down.
Speaking to host Megan Pustetto in episode 123 of the So Dramatic! podcast, the reality star revealed the reason she and Cartier are no longer friends.
“I did go and move in with Cartier,” Jessie revealed. “We’re still friends, but not as close. And I feel like this is something I get asked about on my social media every single day. People are hammering me about it.”
Jessie then went on to reveal that she hadn’t spoken publicly about it because of the nature of the disagreement.
“I will be honest, she has hurt my feelings and she’s hurt the feelings of some of my other really close friends,” she said.
“But you know, that doesn’t make her necessarily a bad person. And when someone’s my friend, I would try to have respect for them because she was there for me. So I just don’t want to be like publicly speaking about what happened between us.”
Jessie Wynter Also Revealed Why She and Todd Elton Split
Jessie also spoke out for the first time about why she and former bae Todd Elton broke up.
Speaking to Megan, in the same episode, the reality star revealed the reason the popular couple called it quits.
“I don’t really talk about Todd and me ever,” she admitted.
“We were in Melbourne and everything was all well and good, and I ended up going to Sydney to stay with Cartier [Surjan]. And I think that time apart like I personally thought it was fine, but Cartier was like, ‘Jessie, you are letting this guy walk all over you.’”
According to the star, being away from Todd “opened [her] eyes up a little bit.”
“There are a few things that were upsetting me. Like he was going out for coffee with his ex and stuff, and I was just like, ‘Yeah, that’s fine.’ But, then when I had another female give me their perspective on it, it was very different.
“We just kind of had a conversation and that was it. Very sudden.“
