SAS Australia is actually Mark Philippoussis‘ second reality TV show with Age of Love being his first.
The cringe AF US series, which aired in 2007, was a Bachelor-esque reality show, that featured the then 30-year-old trying to find…you guessed it! Love!
What the Actual F*ck Is Age of Love?
Hold onto your hats kids. Sh*t’s about to get wild!
According to the official synopisis: Seven women in their 40s (the “Cougars”) vye with six women in their 20s (the “Kittens”) for the affections of Mark.
Each episode saw the SAS recruit accompany one or two of the women on a date, after which he determines which contestant is eliminated. This process continues until only one woman is left by his side. Cringe much and possibly a bit ageist?
Did Mark Philippoussis Find Love on the Show?
Eh, sort of.
At the end, there were three finalists. 25-year-old Amanda Salinas, 48-year-old Jennifer Braff and 21-year-old Megan Kehler.
Mark chose brunette “kitten” (vomit), Amanda, however, unsurprisingly, their relationship ended up after five-months.
“He was supposed to be training but he didn’t train a day that I knew him. He seemed aloof. I just called and left a message saying … please don’t contact me anymore,” Amanda told the Herald Sun at the time. Ouch!
