About the role
So Dramatic! Online (sodramaticonline.com) is seeking a Digital Content Producer to work across our website sodramaticonline.com. Reporting to the Managing Online Editor, you will be responsible for sourcing, pitching, writing, editing, and building predominantly Australian reality TV and celebrity content.
The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a fast-paced newsroom environment, be experienced in creating original and high-quality content in a variety of types, including breaking news, SEO-based content, long-form interviews, and social media posts.
This role would suit somebody with expert knowledge of and passion for all things reality TV and who is a confident digital journalist with a highly engaging writing style and excellent attention to detail.
Duties
- Pitch content each day for real-time audiences
- Creating clean, factually correct, and highly engaging on-brand content to tight deadlines
- SEO research and reworks using tools and strategies provided
- Optimizing podcast content for a digital audience
- Interviewing reality TV stars and attending and reporting on events on behalf of the brand
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and media contacts both internally and externally to generate a steady flow of stories and leads
- Working closely with the Managing Online Editor and team members to execute the brands’ digital content strategy
- Using social platforms to amplify content and reach audiences
Skills and experience
- Communications or Journalism Degree
- 1-2+ years experience in digital publishing
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Be able to turn around clean and concise copy quickly
- Experience with content management systems (CMS), photo editing, SEO, and analytical tools such as Google Analytics
- Understanding and experience using different social media platforms
- The ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and ever-changing business priorities
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and also as part of a highly collaborative team
- Ability to spot great stories or bring a fresh angle to an existing story
- Work with Managing Online Editor to achieve brand KPIs and targets
- Highly focused with strong organisational skills
- Great attention to detail
- Must be reality TV obsessed
