A note from our Founder, Megan Pustetto:
About a year ago, after losing my job amid the Coronavirus pandemic, I was really lost about what I wanted to do. I questioned everything including how I would continue to do what I loved.
After a lot of self-reflection, I decided to use the extra time I had to try something I had always wanted to do: podcasting.
I ran the idea past a few friends, most of which told me not to bother because it would never take off and “podcasting isn’t as easy as it looks.” They were right about only one of those things. That same day I came up with the name So Dramatic! and started to plan how my show would look. Exactly one week later, So Dramatic! released its very first episode.
By the second episode, I’d already had thousands of listens (thanks to Abbie Chatfield spilling the Bachelor in Paradise tea the day after her elimination) and by episode eight, I broke the internet with my exclusive Bachelor in Paradise reunion with Kiki Morris and Renee Barrett.
Since then, So Dramatic! has continued to get bigger and better.
I am eternally grateful for the countless reality TV stars who gave (and are still to give) tell-all interviews about their time on television. Their support and trust in me to help them tell their stories has made So Dramatic! what it is today. Bombshell after bombshell, scandal after scandal, juicy story after juicy story — So Dramatic! has had a never-ending supply of tea — enough tea to fill the Tasman Sea!
Most importantly, I was also able to start giving a voice to important issues that I was passionate about, which was something I had previously struggled to do in my day-to-day work. Very quickly, So Dramatic! took on a life of its own and became the most-talked-about podcast in Australia.
The podcast, which I have hosted for just over a year, has recently celebrated a milestone of 100 episodes as well as hitting one million downloads in the first seven months. Plus it saw two million downloads in its first year. It was also named by Spotify as the Most Popular TV & Film Podcast for 2020 and has continued to dominate the charts — especially in the TV & Film category, and has even been nominated for awards.
Now, I am so excited to finally reveal my new baby, So Dramatic! Online – our new fully-functioning entertainment news website that I have been quietly working on behind the scenes with a brand new So Dramatic! team.
So Dramatic! Online will now be delivering you the tea, not just once a week, but every hour, every minute and every second of the day!
This is honestly such a dream come true.
When I first began my career in media as a journalist over ten years ago, I had always dreamt of having my own website, but never in a million years did I think that it would one day become a reality or turn out this great.
I am so grateful for the support of my loyal listeners (shoutout to the Drama Army!) to help me achieve this goal.
I would also like to welcome and thank the amazing team I now have working alongside me and supporting me to make So Dramatic! the best it can be.
The So Dramatic! Online team will be working around the clock (harder than the devil and Kris Jenner put together!) to bring you all the trustworthy, reliable and exclusive tea about your favourite TV shows and the people on them, whilst also starting important conversations, leading important discussions, and adding meaning and social context to the entertainment news and gossip space — which has always been at the core of what So Dramatic! does.
More tea! More news! More laughs! More drama!
Sorry to break it to you, haters! So Dramatic! is not going anywhere. We’re just getting started!
