One couple has already been axed from Married at First Sight Australia 2026, just two weeks into filming amid an investigstion into serious allegations made about the groom.
ICYMI: As reported in episode 601 of the So Dramatic! podcast, a TikTokker revealed the identity of one of the MAFS 2026 grooms. This sparked women from across the country coming forward with claims that they’d dated him and had alarming experiences with him.
Some women even emailed MAFS’ production company Endemol Shine Australia directly, urging them to remove the groom from the experiment.
However, as revealed in episode 603 of the So Dramatic! podcast, producers have reportedly removed the groom and his TV wiffe from the show amid an internal investigation.
The groom at the centre of the scandal is Sydney-based fitness guru and mortgage broker Micah Lomu. He was matched with sports presenter Ankita Karungalekar.

One production insider told So Dramatic! that Micah and Ankita were removed from the show before the first Dinner Party.
“Micah and Ankita hit it off on their Honeymoon, and they were really vibing with each other. In fact, they were one of the strongest matches this season by far,” the source dished.
“After the Honeymoon, when the allegations started to surface, producers separated them while they figured out what to do.”
Once Ankita found out about the claims, she told producers she wanted to continue the experiment with Micah, and she felt “100% safe and comfortable”.
However, the producers told her they needed to investigate the situation before deciding the next steps.
When approached by producers, Micah “denied any wrongdoing”.
Since there were no criminal charges, sources say there’s still potential for the pair to return to the show. However, other insiders have claimed that bringing the couple back will “taint the season” and invite unwanted backlash.
