Married at First Sight Australia 2025‘s Sierah Swepstone has revealed the truth behind the infamous “plate of meat dinner” scandal with Adrian Araouzou and Tony Mojanovski.
ICYMI: During her stint on the show, Sierah was accused of “cheating” on her TV husband, Billy Belcher, with Adrian after going out together behind their partners’ backs.
During the show, Adrian’s TV wife, Awhina Rutene, confronted Sierah about their catch-up at the following Dinner Party. At the time, Sierah revealed that their co-star Tony was also present, and that it certainly wasn’t a date.
“We shared a plate of meat. That was all that happened,” Sierah asserted at the time.
During part five of her tell-all on the So Dramatic! podcast, Sierah revealed what really went down during the controversial dinner in question.
Married at First Sight‘s Sierah Swepstone reveals why she went for dinner with Adrian Araouzou and Tony Mojanovski
Speaking to host Megan Pustetto, Sierah explained that before the dinner, she was waiting in the House AP (Assistant Producer) room. She was planning to “vent” about how she had been mistreated by Billy and her co-stars during the Channel Nine publicity days because she had “no one else to go to.”
Whilst waiting, Tony came in and ended up inviting Sierah to his dinner with Adrian after noticing that she looked “upset”.
“I was a third wheel. I was an afterthought,” Sierah said. “Tony was like, ‘Just come. I want to make sure you’re okay.’ It was Tony who cared about me because he’d seen that I just wasn’t good.”

While the show’s edit made it seem like Sierah and Adrian had gone on a fancy date, Sierah confirmed they’d actually gone to a local kebab shop with Tony.
“I sat in the back seat, Tony was in the front seat, and Adrian drove,” Sierah recalled.
“We got two or three massive meat skewer things. A plate of meat with a bit of chips. I had a few Coronas, and that was basically it.”
Later in the interview, Sierah confirmed that Tony “paid for dinner.” Then, Adrian dropped them both back to Sky Suites (the MAFS accommodation), further cementing the fact that it wasn’t a “date”.
When asked what had been discussed at the dinner, Sierah revealed she had vented about her marriage problems.
“I was like, ‘Billy’s a f*cking asshole. And Adrian said, ‘He doesn’t like you, man. He’s playing a game, play it back,” Sierah continued.
“But I didn’t even know what that meant. It was a little late for me to have some kind of strategy, because I didn’t realise that’s what people do.
“That was my biggest f*ck up of MAFS... being genuine. The bigger the narcissistic piece of sh*t you are, the better the edit.”
Married at First Sight’s Sierah Swepstone says Billy Belcher made her out to be a ‘druggie’ and ‘alcoholic’
Sierah added that Billy had also made her out to be a “druggie and alcoholic” to Adrian and told him she was “taking dexies”, a reference to her ADHD medication Dexamphetamine.
“This was the first time I’d heard that Billy was telling people I was popping dexies, and that I would lock myself in my room to drink… It was the first time someone had relayed what Billy was doing to me.”
Married at First Sight‘s Sierah reveals why she and Adrian initially kept the dinner a secret
Sierah then revealed why she and Adrian had initially agreed to keep the dinner a secret from their spouses.
“I’d had enough at this point and we weren’t doing anything wrong,” Sierah confessed. “But I knew what Billy was like… I knew what he would do, and I was scared of him.
During the Channel Nine publicity days, Sierah explained that Billy had overheard her speaking to producers about his behaviour, and she worried he would retaliate.
“I knew he wasn’t happy about that. It was just a danger to me, I suppose, to give him anything to use as ammunition against me.”
Sierah went on to express that she feared Billy would misrepresent what the dinner was and weaponise it against her because he had already been turning the cast against her.
“I was aware that my reputation had been so poisoned [by Billy] and I was never going to get a chance to defend myself,” she justified.
“I was always on the back foot and fighting blindly.”
Sierah added that she didn’t feel required to tell Billy about the dinner because she wasn’t living with him at the time and they were no longer on speaking terms.
